The 31^st Annual Trip is complete! We planned a reprise of trip #30, with Aspen as the venue, a super-bowl party co-hosted with the Bell Mountain Buckaroos, and a post-super bowl concert by guitar virtuoso Dave “Greywolf” Frisk. Most of that came to pass, with the exception of the concert; the weather in the front range prevented Dave from getting up the hill, but nevertheless we partied on with the Buckaroos. The reprisal was eerily similar with another broken bone at Aspen Highlands, sustained by our “Rookie of the Year”, Stuart Fullerton, who took a nasty fall at Aspen Highlands and fractured his upper arm (recall Spence’s broken ribs last year that occurred at a nearby location.) Stuart is a welcome addition to the trip, not only an excellent skier, but also a trooper, attending the traditional in-house pasta dinner with a sling supporting one arm, and the other arm supporting a wine glass. Tradition (and luck) held forth again, with new snow every day including over a foot in the trees on the last day, and dinner at Takah Sushi the usual culinary delight. We’ve eaten there enough times that the waiter merely asks if we want “the usual.” The food starts coming and all we have to do is say when to stop. The boys skied Aspen Mountain (Ajax) on day #1, Snowmass at day #2, Highlands on day #3, and back to Ajax on day #4. Photos and videos are below.
